Currently I am working as a policy analyst for the Directorate of Education and Skills at the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD). I have a contract to work for OECD for two years (April 2019-March 2021), and then I am planning to be back in my previous position as a senior research fellow at the National Institute for School Teachers and Staff Development (NITS). NITS is a national research center for teachers professional development with an affiliation to the Ministry of Education, Japan. I have earned a Ph.D. in American Studies (interdisciplinary program) from Michigan State University, and I have been working mainly in the field of teacher education and its policy. I also have worked on several research projects with the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) both as a visiting scholar and as a research partner, and developed a method for quantifying qualitative dataset to measure the changes of the public attitudes toward the space programs. I am currently serving as an advisor for JAXA's education outreach program.
